2.  What parties are able to read the data on my CU Link chip?

The information stored in the card can be only retrieved by authorized personnel, such as administrative staff, on need-to-know restrictions through the respective applications.

3. What security measures does the CU Link have in place to protect my personal data?

Your information relevant to the University is stored in an encrypted mode on the card and can’t be retrieved by common card readers. They can only be read by systems deployed by the University.

Nevertheless, the printed information of the card would still be inevitably exposed to anyone holding the card. Although they would not be able to use it for any authentication means (physical authentications require a matching photo, and digital authentications require CU Link PIN/CWEM accounts), the leak of your personal information would still be potentially damaging. You are advised to safeguard your CU Link carefully.

4. How can I access the data stored in my CU Link?

You can view the personal information stored on your CU Link through the PCs in User Area on 1/F, Pi Chiu Building.[MAP]
