Through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) (http://www.jupas.edu.hk), CUHK admits secondary school students from local schools based on their local public examination results.

With the local education reform, two cohorts of students from local secondary schools will be seeking admission to the University in the 2012 entry. Students seeking admission based on their current/ past Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) results will be admitted to undergraduate programmes with a 3-year (normative) curriculum. Students seeking admission based on their Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education examination results will be admitted to undergraduate programmes with a 4-year (normative) curriculum.
