It provides interest-free loans to full-time local non-final-year undergraduate students who are in need of additional funds for the completion of courses or other forms of study organized by the University in summer.

Students who participate in no-pay placements or education programmes in summer of that academic year (such as language courses, enhancement programmes, development programmes, exchange programme, organizing on-campus summer activities), which will cause additional expenses to students with financial difficulties may apply.

The scheme is usually open for application in February.
