Programme Introduction An Elitist Gateway into International Relations, International Political Economy & Global Governance Global Studies is an inter-disciplinary subject designed for aspirators to become global citizens and professionals, that examines all aspects of our global human society under the age of globalization with particular focus on international relations, international political economy, global governance and comparative politics in global affairs. The Global Studies programme equips students with global vision and analytical skills in the face of various global issues, with an emphasis on integrating different theories and methodologies of social science and learning from diplomatic practice, global management and effective governance. The curriculum covers theories and empirical studies on globalization, world economies, international relations, global politics, environmental issues, human rights, poverty, and international law on a comparative basis, requiring students to analyze these subjects in a critical and scientific manner. Students will receive training through an array of teaching and learning activities, which enhances their competitiveness in the globalizing career markets in Hong Kong and abroad.
