The UExB Office, which is subsumed under the Academic and Quality Section, offers secretarial support to the UExB and assistance to the university community in the validation of new sub-degree, certificate, and diploma programmes; the re-validation of revisions to, evaluations of, and the phasing out of existing sub-degree, certificate, and diploma programmes; and the approval of examination results and provision of certification services for these programmes. Continuing Education Fund

The Chinese University of Hong Kong as a course provider offering self-financing courses in specified subject disciplines can apply for registration of CUHK courses from sub-degree to postgraduate degree level, with the effect that course participants on registered courses may apply for a fee reimbursement of up to HK$10,000.

The UExB Office has been serving as an interface among the Office of Continuing Education Fund (OCEF), the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), the Labour and Welfare Bureau (LWB) and CUHK programmes which are or intend to be included under the reimbursable course list of the Continuing Education Fund (CEF).
